Peter Uneken, former FC Twente assistant, leaves for Go Ahead Eagles. He will become assistant coach at the Deventen team. Uneken worked earlier as assistant coach under Joseph Oosting at RKC. When Oosting came to FC Twente in the summer of 2023, he took Uneken with him as assistant coach. After Oosting's departure, Uneken also left the Tukkers. He was head coach at VVV-Venlo last season. It was already known that Uneken and VVV-Venlo would not continue together next season. Go Ahead Eagles announced on Wednesday that the club is parting ways with trainer Melvin Boel. The Deventer club would see Joseph Oosting, former FC Twente trainer, as the desired successor to Boel. However, Oosting is not the only one with a link to FC Twente in the picture in Deventer. Peter Uneken is also on the list to be added to the staff. On Wednesday, it was already known that Go Ahead Eagles would go for the arrival of Oosting. Jeroen Kapteijns of De Telegraaf reports that the Deventen team has been in talks with the 54-year-old coach for a long time. Oosting was fired last month by Royal Antwerp FC. According to Kapteijns, the arrival will be finalized this week.
