FC Twente has appointed John van den Brom as the new coach until the end of the season. Van den Brom replaces Joseph Oosting, who was fired a week and a half ago. The 58-year-old coach will be on the training field on Tuesday morning and is looking forward to it. He said: 'We're going to work hard so that we're as well prepared as possible for the match against Sparta Rotterdam on Friday.' Van den Brom has previously worked at Vitesse, ADO Den Haag, AZ, Anderlecht, FC Utrecht, Genk and Lech Poznan. He became Belgian champion with Anderlecht and won the cup with Genk. At ADO, he qualified for European football. Technical director Jan Streuer praises Van den Brom's experience and says: 'He is a very experienced coach who has made a name for himself both at home and abroad.' Streuer hopes to achieve his goal of finishing in the top five and qualifying for European football with the appointment of Van den Brom. Van den Brom shares that ambition and says: 'It gives me the opportunity to work at a wonderful club again in the top of the subtop of the Eredivisie, because that's where FC Twente belongs.'
