René Hake is in the running for the job at Leicester City, the English club that won the Premier League title ten years ago. The former FC Twente trainer is a serious candidate for the position. Hake was twice active at FC Twente, first as trainer of the Under 19 and later as head trainer. He was fired in 2017 after a 3-1 loss to Willem II. Since then, he has worked at SC Cambuur, FC Utrecht, Go Ahead Eagles and Manchester United. Hake has competition from Russell Martin, who has been trainer at Swansea City, Southampton and Rangers in recent years. Leicester City won the English title in 2016, but will play in the third tier next season. In 2025, the club was relegated from the Premier League and last season to the League One. This came due to poor performances and point deductions, which put 'The Foxes' in a difficult situation.
