FC Twente is active in the transfer market and is now targeting players without a contract. The aim: bring in one or more of the 15 Dutch stars currently free agents.

Which players are club‑less?

We have highlighted the ten most interesting for FC Twente: Vincent Janssen, Myron Boadu, Joël Veltman, Luuk de Jong, Danilo Doekhi, Hans Hateboer, Jasper Cillessen, Daley Sinkgraven, Kingsley Ehizibue and Georginio Wijnaldum. Some of these have previously played for Twente or have regional ties, making them especially appealing.

Why is a right‑back a priority?

Current right‑back Bart van Rooij may leave this summer. FC Twente will need a replacement. In that context Hans Hateboer, Kingsley Ehizibue and Joël Veltman stand out. Hateboer brings Eredivisie and Bundesliga experience, Ehizibue is a young, dynamic full‑back, and Veltman offers leadership and defensive stability. One of them could fill the vacancy without a large transfer fee.

How could former Twente players fit in?

Luuk de Jong and Myron Boadu have both worn the Twente shirt before. De Jong, now 31, can still score, while Boadu, 23, retains plenty of potential. Their familiarity with the club culture would help a quick integration. Additionally, Vincent Janssen, who recently left a foreign club, is searching for a new challenge; his Eredivisie experience makes him an intriguing attacking option.

FC Twente is currently 4th in the Eredivisie with 58 points, 15 wins, 13 draws and 6 losses. With 59 goals scored and 40 conceded, the club enjoys a +19 goal difference. They sit 26 points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven. A smart free transfer could deepen the squad without raising financial pressure, which is vital for the push for a European spot.

What’s the next step for the club?

The scouting department will scrutinise the list and start talks with the players or their agents. An initial discussion with Hans Hateboer is already scheduled for next week. If an agreement is reached, the player could join FC Twente’s training camp in the summer, just before the decisive second half of the season.
