FC Twente has extended the contract of top talent Ruud Nijstad until 2029. The 18-year-old defender, who was recently in demand from major clubs like FC Barcelona and PSV, has chosen to stay at the club in Enschede. Nijstad, who joined FC Twente in 2019, feels at home in De Grolsch Veste and sees the club as the best place to further develop himself. Over the past six months, he has learned a lot and is convinced that he can still make progress at FC Twente. Technical director Erik ten Hag emphasizes that Nijstad is a valuable asset to the club and that his extension should serve as an example for other talented players. Thanks to last season's fourth place, Nijstad will now also enter Europe with FC Twente, where he looks forward to the European matches he has yet to experience.
