FC Twente has lost defender Mats Rots to Hoffenheim on a long-term contract. The 20-year-old player has grown up at FC Twente from a young age and has completed the entire youth development program. He made his debut in the first team of Twente in August 2023 and played 43 official matches for the club, scoring five times. From January 2025, he played half a year on loan for Heracles Almelo. "It's actually bizarre how it all went. I've grown up at FC Twente from a young age, completed the entire youth development program and now after one full season in the Eredivisie I can make this step to the Bundesliga already", said Rots on the Twente website. "I'm proud to make this step now and look forward to further developing as a footballer."
